What’s weird about that?

All that ‘80s pastel.

I know, right? Although I must say, when all that pastel and popped collar action was going on, I was grunge before grunge was a thing. Jeans, tee shirts with plaid over shirts, long hair. Funny thing, my wife and I went to the same high school, though we were two years apart. I ran with the Led Zeppelin dope smoking crowd, she ran with the Izod Topsiders crowd. We didn’t meet until we ended up at the same college.

It’s like you skipped right from the 70s to the 90s. The 80s was the only time in recorded history when men could wear colors like that and and use hair product and not be assumed gay. Miami Vice and Duran Duran created the perfect storm. I tried to get in on the look, but I was tragically unsuited for it. I know someone up there must have been looking out for me because there is no reasonable way I should have been able to lose my virginity.

Also, your high school reunions must be interesting.

I had a girlfriend who bought me a pink shirt. I never wore it. Not that I found any negative connotations about the color, I’m just more of an earth tone guy. But you are right about fashion. Honestly, I miss the 80s. Even though the Cold War was still going on, at least we knew who our enemy was. And there was so much optimism after the 70s. I’m no Reagan supporter, but it was definitely Morning Again in America .

Never been to one. The only friend I came out of HS with turned into a far right wing nut and I broke off the friendship years ago. There’s nobody I’d really want to see again from HS except my wife, and I see her every day.

Was just thinking yesterday how it was like our generation’s Roaring 20s.
Also, the first time I wore a pink shirt, my dad made fun of me, but I knew I was cool.

Never been to any of mine either. The friends I care about I stay in touch with. For the rest, it would be just for curiosity, and I don’t have that much time or money to spend on that kind of trip just for curiosity.

More teens should wear suspenders

What isn’t weird is that semi-megablaster with EQ and tape cassette deck. The closest thing to that now is the JVC Kaboom.
